GS1 standards are quickly becoming the back bone in the process of tracing and tracking products, records and processes in healtcare. They permit interoperability and compatibility throughout, which in itself is often achieved by using Data Parsing.
Data Parsing is the extraction of relevant data from a source, e.g. a GS1 barcode or RFID-tag, splitting it into logical fields and then putting characters between those fields, to automatically fill in a form or data entry mask.
Applying Java Sript instead of using the traditional programming codes or software for scanners, allows for Code barcode scanners to unlock the full potential of the GS1 standards and their Application Identifiers, by making intelligent decisions at the point of scanning.
